Kevin FitzGerald is co-founder of Mattern & FitzGerald and is an active member of the Texas Real Estate Commission where he holds his license. Kevin has overseen hundreds of projects, including residential, commercial and development and served on various advisory boards concerning real estate. He holds a degree from Texas A&M University, where he served twice as a Fightin’ Texas Aggie Yell Leader, Ross Volunteer and proud Corps of Cadets member. Kevin’s hobbies include golf, BBQ, spear fishing, weekend projects and reading.

Jason Mattern
Vice President – Owner
Jason Mattern will work tirelessly to ensure a seamless and pleasant process all the way through, from the start with your design phase, to the finish with handing over the keys to your perfect dream home. Jason’s experience began in college where he earned his Bachelor of Science at Texas A&M. From there he went on to obtain his M.B.A. from St. Mary’s University in San Antonio. After St. Mary’s Jason worked in various capacities for multiple Fortune 500 companies. Through these opportunities he was able to grow his business experience which has helped him to implement innovative procedures and systems to stream line the custom home building process. Education is very important to Jason, and consequently he has continued to grow his field of knowledge in best building practices. He has been awarded the designation of Certified Green Building Professional by the National Association of Home Builders. In addition he serves on various boards and committees, one being the Menger Springs Architectural Control Committee. All of these roles have served to shape Jason into the type of building professional that people want to work with. Family is equally important to Jason. He has been married to his wife Emily for over 21 years and is the proud father of three exceptional children.

Jose Gonzalez
Financial Manager
Jose was born and raised in Torreon, Mexico. He has now been in San Antonio for almost six years. He is a graduate from the University of Texas at San Antonio with a degree in Business Administration in Finance. He is also a graduate from St. Mary’s University, where he earned his master’s degree in Business Administration with a concentration in Data Analytics. He has worked for different companies across Mexico and Texas and is passionate about bringing his expertise to create a positive impact in people’s lives. During his free time he likes to teach tennis, workout, and hang out with friends.

Graig Ponthier was born and raised in Houston, Texas. Her role at M&F has evolved and allowed her to solely focus on each client from the moment they call in to starting construction. With each M&F home being unique and custom, her goal is to listen to desires and important details while collaborating through the plan process – with a steady focus on communication, budget management and always seeks solutions that will be in favor to not only the expectation but quality and efficiency alike. With 10+ years in customer service and 7+ years in the building industry, she is surely the knowledgeable professional who has passion and a drive for exceeding consumer expectation. When not working at the office, she enjoys spending time with her husband, family, practicing her faith and anything that requires being in the outdoors.

Rick Kuehner
Quality Control Manager
Rick has been working for Mattern & FitzGerald since August of 2013 as a Quality Control Manager. Rick and his wife and four children moved to the San Antonio area in May of 1990 where Rick went to work for B-Team Framing out of Boerne. He worked as a framer until he started his own framing company in 2003, which he ran until he joined the team at Mattern & FitzGerald. Rick takes great pride in his work and hopes it shows in everything he does.

Rick has been working for Mattern & FitzGerald since August of 2013 as a Quality Control Manager. Mike Courpas, an Army veteran, has over 30 years of experience in residential construction. He has been employed with Mattern & FitzGerald for 13 years and excels in his attention to detail as well as developing strong and positive customer relationships. A long time resident of Boerne, Texas, Mike enjoys many outdoor activities with his three children, grandchildren and wife of forty years, a 4th generation resident of Kendall County. He enjoys kayaking, gardening, woodworking, and Hill Country drives to visit favorite spots. His love of God, family and country as well as his sense of humor, honesty and integrity make him well-loved by all who know him.
