​Kevin FitzGerald


Kevin FitzGerald is co-founder of Mattern & FitzGerald and is an active member of the Texas Real Estate Commission where he holds his license. Kevin has overseen hundreds of projects, including residential, commercial and development and served on various advisory boards concerning real estate. He holds a degree from Texas A&M University, where he served twice as a Fightin’ Texas Aggie Yell Leader, Ross Volunteer and proud Corps of Cadets member. Kevin’s hobbies include golf, BBQ, spear fishing, weekend projects and reading.

​Jason Mattern

Vice President – Owner

Jason Mattern will work tirelessly to ensure a seamless and pleasant process all the way through, from the start with your design phase, to the finish with handing over the keys to your perfect dream home.  Jason’s experience began in college where he earned his Bachelor of Science at Texas A&M. From there he went on to obtain his M.B.A. from St. Mary’s University in San Antonio. After St. Mary’s Jason worked in various capacities for multiple Fortune 500 companies. Through these opportunities he was able to grow his business experience which has helped him to implement innovative procedures and systems to stream line the custom home building process. Education is very important to Jason, and consequently he has continued to grow his field of knowledge in best building practices. He has been awarded the designation of Certified Green Building Professional by the National Association of Home Builders. In addition he serves on various boards and committees, one being the Menger Springs Architectural Control Committee. All of these roles have served to shape Jason into the type of building professional that people want to work with.  Family is equally important to Jason. He has been married to his wife Emily for over 21 years and is the proud father of three exceptional children.

​Kallee Crow​

Office Manager/Director of Construction Finance

Kallee is a graduate from Texas State University with a degree in Business Marketing. She has worked for Mattern & FitzGerald for over 7 years in customer service, sales, management and finance. Kallee and her family love living in the Texas Hill County. In their spare time you can catch them spending time outdoors and they are very active with their church, ranching and rodeo activities.

​Linda Briley

Accounts Payable

Linda is a native of San Antonio with an extensive background in finance and office management. She has over twelve years’ experience in custom home building to include over seven years with M&F Custom Builders. After serving as the M&F office manager for five years, Linda decided she wanted to spend more time with family and working on her hobbies, so she is now the part time Accounts Payable Manager. In her leisure time, Linda enjoys spending time cultivating her Texas-English garden, redecorating her home, and trying new and unique recipes. She also enjoys reading with her dog, Winston, curled up at her side. She serves as member of the finance committee for Verse by Verse Fellowship Church and is actively involved in this new congregation. She especially enjoys spending time with family over dinner, brunch, and other activities. Linda has two grown daughters, Katina and Lia; three grandchildren, Heather, Kelley, and Rachel; and two great-grandchildren, Adison and Judah.

​Tracey Dicks​


Tracey Dicks has over 6 years of sales and customer service experience and has served as our project estimator for over 2 years now. Her knowledge and attention to detail in the beginning stage ensures that every homeowner is equipped to have a wonderful experience. She and her husband Austin live in Spring Branch, enjoy spending time with family and being outdoors.

Jamie Ernst

Administrative Assistant

Jamie, a long time resident of San Antonio, she enjoys cooking and vacationing to new places. Her role at Mattern & FitzGerald is important to each person on our team and to each and every client. Behind the scenes, she manages pre-construction tasks, assists with all things HOA, permitting and utility related. She is the delightful person who greets every customer with a smile and enjoys making their experience with us pleasurable.

​Brett Shreve

Senior Project Manager

Brett Shreve was born and raised in San Antonio and has over 12 years experience of project management in home building. He enjoys working with homeowners and helping them build their dream home. You can usually find Brett on a deer lease or on a fishing boat on any given weekend. He loves spending time with family and friends and will be the first to fire up the BBQ pit! Faith and family come first with his wife, Jenny and two daughters, Brynn and Reagan.

Danny Hererra

Senior Project Manager

Danny Herrera grew up in Colorado Springs, CO and has lived in San Antonio for 20 years. He attended New Mexico State University and has over 15 years of project management experience in residential and commercial building.  Danny and his wife Jenn, have 2 boys and enjoy spending time outdoors.  After 15 years in residential and commercial building, Danny enjoys building beautiful homes that all families will consider their dream home, which they will love for many years. His dedication and commitment to great customer service is his passion.

Matt Courpas

Project Manager

Matt Courpas is a 30 year Hill Country resident who has grown up in and around building his whole life. Matt enjoys being in the outdoors and is an avid hunter and fisherman in his spare time. Matt has been with Mattern and FitzGerald for 9 years and has been a Project Manager for the last 4 years .

Rick Kuehner

Quality Control Manager

Rick has been working for Mattern & FitzGerald since August of 2013 as a Quality Control Manager. Rick and his wife and four children moved to the San Antonio area in May of 1990 where Rick went to work for B-Team Framing out of Boerne. He worked as a framer until he started his own framing company in 2003, which he ran until he joined the team at Mattern & FitzGerald. Rick takes great pride in his work and hopes it shows in everything he does.

Michael Courpas

Quality Control Manager

Mike Courpas, an Army veteran, has over 30 years of experience in residential construction. He has been employed with Mattern & FitzGerald for 13 years and excels in his attention to detail as well as developing strong and positive customer relationships. A long time resident of Boerne, Texas, Mike enjoys many outdoor activities with his three children, grandchildren and wife of forty years, a 4th generation resident of Kendall County. He enjoys kayaking, gardening, woodworking, and Hill Country drives to visit favorite spots. His love of God, family and country as well as his sense of humor, honesty and integrity make him well-loved by all who know him.

Marc Cary

Quality Control Associate

Marc Cary was born in California and raised in Texas, but spent most of his adult life in Alaska until moving to Boerne five years ago. Around that time he began working with M&F. Prior to this, he had spent the past 15 years working in various residential and commercial building/remodeling projects. In his free time, he enjoys spending time outdoors with his family as well as, building custom furniture.
